Easy and Delicious Air Fryer Chicken Fajitas
Air Fryer Chicken Fajitas are one of the first things we wanted to cook up when we got our Air Fryer.
First I need to start with saying that the Air Fryer has become one of the new kitchen gadgets that I will swear by.
I used to heat up oil and have it wasted after frying, with this new device I don’t have to worry it. I also get to avoid grease burns, possible house fires and fishing things out halfway through.
The Air Fryer just makes things far easier and with less preparation, and its very similar to frying anything yourself!
Anyways back to the recipe! Fajitas are one of the go to meal we run to when we are trying to fill in our weekly meal plan list.
Generally we would cut up all of our vegetables and chicken into strips and spend the time frying it all up and seasoning it.
Instead we just added it all to a bowl as we sliced it, tossed it with some spices and threw it into the air fryer, besides a shake in the middle the work was over after the prep work.
The best part is they didn’t dry out, they tasted amazing and I was able to do other things around the kitchen while the Air Fryer Chicken Fajitas cooked!
Why Make Air Fryer Chicken Fajitas?
Chicken Fajitas in the air fryer are by far the easiest time I have ever had making any sort of fajitas.
Its a set and go recipe which helps when you have busy schedule or other things that need your attention.
I have even considered making some in bags that I can freeze for easy meals later in the week.
They come out perfect!
Do Fajitas taste different in an Air Fryer?
They do not taste any different than normal chicken fajitas. I think if anything air fryer chicken fajitas get a slight bit more crispy on the edges.
I think they come out with a better texture, but the flavor doesnt seem to be affected at all!
What Seasonings do I use on Chicken Fajitas?
We use a mixture of chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, oregano, and cumin. It really gives a southwestern spice to it.
You can of course use your own blend of spices or a fajita spice blend and achieve similar results with your Air Fryer Chicken Fajitas.
How do you make Chicken Fajitas in an Air Fryer?
We start with a bowl large enough to hold our whole families portions.
Then its the fun part. We slice our onions and bell peppers into thin strips and our chicken into half breasts then slice those into thin strips as well. This lets the chicken stretch further and reduce the cooking time needed.
Toss all your slices into the bowl and add olive oil and your fajita spices (2 Tablespoons Chili Powder, 1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder, 1 Tablespoon Onion Powder, 1 Teaspoon Oregano, 1 Teaspoon Paprika, 1 Teaspoon Cumin)
Mix very well until you see that all the chicken is evenly coated on all sides.
Then you just add the bowl ingredients to your air fryer and cook for 15 minutes at 400 degrees!
I shake 2-3 times while cooking to make sure it comes out evenly cooked.
You might want to try smaller batches if you have a larger family to make sure everything crisps up really nice, or shake more and increase your cooking time but make sure to avoid burning the chicken or drying it out too much!

Air Fryer Chicken Fajitas
- 2 Whole Chicken Breast
- 2 Whole Bell Peppers
- 1 Whole White Onion
- 2 Tablespoons Chili Powder
- 1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder
- 1 Tablespoon Onion Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Oregano
- 1 Teaspoon Paprika
- 1 Teaspoon Cumin
- 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1 Whole Lime, Juiced
- Slice onion, bell peppers, and chicken into strips – place into a bowl.
- Add oil, lime juice, and spices to the bowl and toss to coat.
- Transfer to air fryer and cook at 400 degrees for 15 minutes (shake halfway through)
- Serve on tortillas with your favorite toppings. Also good in salad or with beans and rice.
